About MediaFetches

MediaFetches is a straightforward tool for saving a video or an audio track from a public link. There is no account and no subscription.

How it works

You paste a link. Our server visits that public page, reads what formats are available, and shows them to you. When you pick one, the server fetches the media, converts it if the format you asked for needs converting, and holds the finished file just long enough for your device to collect it. The file is then deleted.

Doing the work on the server rather than in your browser is a deliberate choice: it means a phone on a slow connection downloads one finished file instead of several streams it then has to stitch together, and it means the result is the same on every device.

What we do not do

• We do not remove or circumvent digital rights management.
• We do not sign in to anything on your behalf, and we cannot reach content that requires an account.
• We do not bypass paywalls, private accounts, or access controls of any kind.
• We do not keep a record that links a download to you.

MediaFetches is for media you own, media published under a licence that permits saving it, and media you have the rights holder's permission to keep. Respecting the terms of the sites you use it with is your responsibility, and the Terms of Service set that out in full.

Privacy

The site loads nothing from a third party by default — the fonts, icons and scripts all come from this domain, so opening MediaFetches does not announce that you did to anyone else. Download statistics are kept as counts, with no link, no address and nothing that identifies a person. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is stored and for how long.

Questions, bug reports and takedown requests all go to the same place: the contact form. Messages are read by the person running this installation.
